Thanksgiving Thanks

It’s here, it’s really here!  Thanksgiving is only 4 days away!  I am so happy that the weather is nice and cool here in Charleston.  Last year we spent the holidays in much warmer weather.  Thanksgiving is a time to gather with friends and family and create wonderful memories for our little ones.

Every year I bake my dear Nana’s Italian Creme Cake…oh. my. goodness!  I will post some pictures as I bake my cake this year and I will share with you this treasured recipe.  I feel like I am with my Nana every year when I bake this cake.  I also never knew how involved her cakes were!  Well worth it though!  I also make some sides to bring to my family Thanksgiving dinner.  I have yet to have cooked my own turkey though!  One day I will undertake this task as I truely love to cook….and bake!

As the holidays approach, remember the little things.  Your child’s excitement as you decorate cookies, reading books to them as you tuck them into bed, little talks with your children, decorating your home for the holidays and so many more tiny but very important  moments.  The season is always a rush from baking to shopping to holiday parties.  All of our time is spent rushing from one event to the next.  Take time this year to slow down and take it all in.  Children are little for only so long, we need to keep the magic alive for as long as possible.

I would love to hear your holiday traditions that are special to you.  Please share with us your favorite recipes too!  We will be posting some of our favorites on our blog, Pinterest and Facebook this season!
